GuestGame #001 – Bank It!

Equipment: 1 freeway full of cars
Players: 2
RULES
Here’s another one for you commuters – as well as all of you who take a lot of family trips. Also, it’s the first GuestGame here at PatGames. It was designed by my father-in-law, Robert Nason.
For example: If the first plate you see is “1RRJ215”, then your Bucket total is 5. If the next plate you pass is “4EPD962”, then you add 2 to your Bucket, for a total of 7. If you pass a plate that ends in a zero, however, your Bucket is reduced to zero and the other player gets to take over.
The trick to getting to a hundred is in Banking. Any time you wish, you may say “Bank It!” and your Bucket gets added to your Total Points. However, your turn also ends and the other player gets to take his turn.
As you can see, the trick is in knowing when to walk away with a decent Bucket to be added to your Total Points. Many games culminate with one player having a fantastic streak of numbers and a Point total well in advance of his opponent. This invariably forces the other player to take his chances on finding a long streak of non-zeros.
Needless to say, if a car has been passed once, it is out of the game. If that same car happens to pass your car – should you slow down perhaps – then you are not allowed to add it again. You can play Bank It either with passed cars or cars that pass you (if you are a slowpoke). Just try to remember which cars have been counted already.
Happy driving!
